The research group stems from the tradition on electrochemistry at Politecnico di Milano, following one of the fathers of the Italian Electrochemistry culture, Roberto Piontelli, and two of his coworkers, Pietro Luigi Cavallotti and Umberto Ducati.
Nowadays the laboratory operates in materials science and engineering with a multidisciplinary approach, owing to the background of its members Massimiliano Bestetti (Nuclear Engineer), Antonello Vicenzo (Chemical Engineer), Silvia Franz (Chemist) and of the several research fellows, post-docs and Ph.D. students.
