The core competences of the laboratory of Chemistry and Characterization of Innovative Polymers (ChIPlab) are focused on the development and characterization of novel polymeric materials that find application in different key areas of scientific and technological interest. In particular, the laboratory possesses a consolidated experience in the science and technology of polymeric materials and of their composites and nanocomposites, in their chemical, physical and functional characterization, in macromolecular chemistry, in the physics/chemistry of surfaces, interfaces and coatings, and in the study of the rheological and viscoelastic properties of polymers. The laboratory is equipped with a wide range of tools and equipment for the synthesis, characterization, transformation and functional as well as applicative evaluation of polymeric materials, composites and nanocomposites.
The research activities focus primarily on the science and technology of polymeric materials and on the study of their structure-property correlations. Areas of major interest concern the development and characterization of:
