PROFILE

Elena Redaelli is associate professor of Materials Science and Technology (ING/IND-22). She obtained a Master degree (2000) and Ph.D. (2004) in Materials Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. Since 2005 she has participated in the activities of the Concrete Durability Lab (http://mcd.chem.polimi.it/).

Her scientific activity is mainly related with the durability of construction materials, specifically deterioration phenomena of concrete and corrosion of reinforcement.
She has collaborated with several institutions, such as University of Miami (USA), Zhejiang University and Shenzhen University (PRC), TNO Building and Construction Research (NL) and BRE Building Research Establishment (UK).

She teaches courses of Construction Materials in the Bachelor and Master degree of Building Engineering, Civil Engineering and Architecture.
