PROFILE

Claudia Pigliacelli is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering “Giulio Natta” at Politecnico di Milano. She obtained her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of East Anglia (United Kingdom) in 2015.

She carried out research activities as a research fellow at Politecnico di Milano (2013–2016) and subsequently as a postdoctoral researcher at Aalto University (Finland, 2016–2019) and at the Centro de Investigacións Científicas Avanzadas (CICA), Universidade da Coruña (Spain, 2020).

Her current research focuses on:

  • nanostructured peptide- and protein-based systems for biomedical applications;
  • synthesis and self-assembly of gold nanoparticles and nanoclusters and their use in sensing applications;
  • drug delivery using polymeric and peptide-based systems.
