Current Position:

• Assistant Professor (Law 240/2010, “junior”) in the field of Industrial Bioengineering and Bioengineering, Dept. Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering “G. Natta”, Politecnico di Milano (since December 2021).
• Member of the National Bioengineering Group (GNB – since 2014), the European Society of Biomechanics (ESB – since 2015), and the European Society for Artificial Organs (ESAO – since 2014)

Scientific Interests

• Cardiovascular engineering: polymeric heart valve prostheses and ventricular assist devices
• Characterization of pancreatic tissue for the development of surgical phantoms and new devices for anastomosis (suture wires and glues) - in collaboration with Humanitas University and IRCCS Humanitas
• Development of devices against post-partum haemorrhage for low and incomes countries (BAMBI - Balloon Against Mathernal BleedIng)
• Development of drug delivery devices in the ophthalmic field
