Research activity
The scientific activity, carried out at the "Materials for Energy and Environment" laboratory, deals with alternative energy and materials for wastewater treatment. The main research topics are:
- polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells: development and characterization of proton and electronic conductors for hydrogen-fed electrochemical generators;
- characterization and modelling of electrochemical phenomena at the electrode-electrolyte interface in fuel cells;
- self-assembling materials for wastewater treatment: development of graphene-based filters for metals recovery from electronic wastes and for water softening;
- high-conductivity materials for aeronautical applications: structural, morphological and electrical characterization of metal-graphene composites.
Author and co-author of more than 40 scientific papers in international journals and more than 30 communications to international conferences.
