Pierangelo Metrangolo, Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering “Giulio Natta”, was elected president of the I Division (Physical and Biophysical Chemistry) at International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC).
The IUPAC is a prestigious international body which collects chemical societies from more than 60 countries in the world and aims at promoting the progress of Chemical Sciences, also through standardization of measurment, nomenclature and terminology.
