Chemical recycling of plastics: a Department research published by PECS

Posted on  3/12/2021

A study,  in collaboration with a group of researchers of Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering “Giulio Natta”, on the chemical recycling of plastics was recently published in the prestigious journal «Progress in Energy and Combustion Science» (PECS).

Chemical recycling, through the processes of pyrolysis and gasification, in regard to mechanical one, is potentially a more technologically mature system from a technological point of view, more flexible and independent of the raw material, and economically advantageous.

The study seeks to fill the gaps in this subject, by collecting, reinterpreting and rationalizing the state-of-the-art literature, and analysing future directions and challenges.
