During the 40th International Symposium of the Combustion Institute, Professor Tiziano Faravelli was awarded the Jürgen Warnatz Gold Medal for his «excellent contribution to combustion science and applications by systematic, innovative and practical development, validation and optimization of chemical reaction mechanisms».

The Gold Medal is one of the highest honors bestowed by the Combustion Institute, awarded every two years during the International Symposium on Combustion. It is given to scientists whose significant contributions have advanced combustion science in their specific fields.
