The article by Luna Pratali Maffei, former PhD student, now reserach fellow in the CRECK Modeling (Chemical Reaction Engineering and Chemical Kinetics Group) research group, received the Distinguished Paper Award, "Gas-phase reaction kinetics" section, during the 39th International Symposium on Combustion, organized by The Combustion Institute. The paper, entitled Theoretical kinetics of HO2 + C5H5: A missing piece in cyclopentadienyl radical oxidation reactions, was selected among more than 80 papers presented during the Symposium.

The Distinguished Paper Award gives access to the selection procedure to receive the Silver Combustion Medal, a prestigious award whose recipients will be announced at the 40th International Symposium on Combustion in Milan in 2024.
