Life-Cascade | Project meeting

Milan, 8-9 April 2024 - At Politecnico di Milano was held the first of a series of project meetings for the project Life-Cascade (Closed-loop wAter Systems in textile industrial distriCts: multimodal orchestrAteD rEmoval of emerging pollutants from textile wastewater), funded by the European Union.

The project is aimed at evaluating at a laboratory scale and testing at a demonstrative scale a series of treatment technologies to remove PFAS and Microplastics from wastewater both at the level of textile companies and at the level of centralized wastewater treatment plants.
The goal of the project will be the identification of the best and most feasible combination to be implemented in a textile district.

Two departments of Politecnico di Milano are involved in the project: the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering "Giulio Natta".

Life-Cascade involves partners the follower partners: Centro Tessile Serico Sostenibile srl, Politecnico di Milano, Lariana Depur SpA, Università degli Studi dell'Insubria, Como Acqua, Acquedotto Industriale,  Università degli Studi di Brescia, CITEVE, AquaSoil, De Nora srl, Biochemie Lab srl e ZDHC.
