DIPARTIMENTO DI CHIMICA, MATERIALI E INGEGNERIA CHIMICA "GIULIO NATTA"
Posted on  2/10/2020

A multidisciplinary team made by researchers coming from the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, the Center for Synaptic Neuroscience of Genoa and the Center for Nanoscience and Technology of Milan, in collaboration with a group of researchers coordinated by Chiara Bertarelli, Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering “Giulio Natta”, has just published on «Nature Nanotechnology» a project about an innovative molecule (Ziapin) able to make neurons responsive to the light.

Thanks to Ziapin, it will be easier to study how human brain works and, in the upcoming future, it will possible to adopt new therapies for nervous system pathologies or degenerative diseases of the retina.
