A multidisciplinary research team of Politecnico di Milano involving: Luca Patriarca (Department of Mechanical Engineering), Lorenza Petrini and Dr. Alma Brambilla (Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering), and Francesca Berti (Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering “Giulio Natta”) has received the Best Paper Award 2024 from the journal «Shape Memory and Superelasticity». The award was presented during the hashtag SMST 2026 Conference in San Diego.

The awarded study focuses on the application of damage tolerance criteria to nitinol stents, contributing to a deeper understanding of fatigue behaviour and structural reliability in biomedical devices.
