PROFILE

After the graduation in Chemical Engineering in 2016, and a Panda world-crossing tour, I did an internship at the Olfactometric Laboratory of the Department.

In this first phase, I was able to understand the opportunities and satisfactions of research and, turning down jobs I had always dreamed of, I began my PhD in Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.

In combination with pure research activities, I interacted with various industries and, after a study-period in Vienna, I got my PhD cum laude.

Since October 2021, I have been assistant professor at the Department.

My research activities cover a variety of environmental topics:

• Characterisation of complex odour sources (i.e. sewage treatment tanks, floating roof tanks);
• Methods for the monitoring and analysis of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and Non-Methane Hydrocarbons (NMHC);
• Quantification of fugitive and diffuse emissions;
• Development of innovative methods for modelling atmospheric dispersion and sub-hourly concentration fluctuation phenomena;
• Sampling and measurement of volcanic and endogenous emissions; 
• Laboratory-scale experiments of gaseous pollutant treatment and detection systems.
