After almost a year’s work and evaluating hundreds of applications, the Women&Technologies association has awarded the International Tecnovisionarie® Award 2019, the 8th edition, which is awarded every year to women who, in their professional lives, demonstrate that they have vision and who prioritise social impact, transparent behaviour and ethics.

In the category “Scientific Research”, the award went to Marinella Levi, Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering “Giulio Natta”.

The award was presented by Anna Dotti, student in Materials and Nanotechnologies Engineering and member of Women&Technologies who proposed Levi’s candidacy.

Her motivation:

«The word that defines Marinella Levi’s work is solidarity. A Doctor in Materials Engineering, and now a Full Professor at the Politecnico di Milano, she has always loved learning and teaching, right from an early age. It’s no coincidence that she has focused her efforts on studying and spreading knowledge, achieving excellent results.

But doing is when Marinella Levi is at her best, consolidating her skills and making them available to others. In 2013 she created +Lab, an innovation and 3D printing laboratory, where she tests new polymers for use in low-cost 3D printing technologies.

Having always been conscious of issues relating to health and co-designing with people with disabilities, she works every day to develop what she believes in: aligning technology with everyone’s needs and desires».
