Based on historical trends of ICU patients and number of deaths both in Italy and Lombardy, the PSE-Lab of the Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering “Giulio Natta” (a research project of Prof. Davide Manca) publishes a daily Report ("Bollettino pandemia Covid-19") that accounts for the real data released by the Italian Ministry of Health every evening at 6 PM CET. The Report analyses qualitatively and quantitatively the data and based on suitable regression models predicts over a short and medium time interval what are the expected values.
These data are important for decision makers and specifically the Heads of Resuscitation wards in hospital to allocate, possibly, new beds to cope with the tsunami wave of Covid-19 patients affected by pneumonia.
The Report is also published for anybody interested in understanding the dynamics of Covid-19 phenomenon.
