MEETMETONIGHT 2019

Posted on  9/20/2019

The European Researchers’ Night returning this year in Milan on 27th and 28th September in the Indro Montanelli Public Gardens

A singular opportunity to interact with research, where visitors can speak and mingle with its key players, find out what happens in the lab and enjoy a first-hand experience of research’s impact on our daily lives.

On 27th and 28th September, our stands will be set up in the Indro Montanelli Public Gardens to provide visitors with experiments, live scientific demonstrations and interactive workshops run by researchers. Visitors, regardless of their age or background, will be offered a hands-on experience and take centre stage, touching, experimenting and playing. All this without understating the complexity and importance of research, while also sharing its findings in a light and fun way, through direct involvement.

Among the stands look for the activities promoted by Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering "Giulio Natta":

• Alla scoperta degli organoidi: la nuova frontiera della Bioingegneria (prof. Carmen Giordano)

• La magia della chimica (prof. Alessandro Volonterio)

Promoting the initiative, alongside the Politecnico di Milano, are its partners: the Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, the Università degli Studi di Milano, the City of Milan and the Università Federico II di Napoli.

The organising parties of the event include field-leading public and private research institutions: universities, research centres, hospitals, foundations, museums and cultural institutions.

The European Researchers’ Night is an annual initiative promoted by the European Commission within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions, which culminates with an event night dedicated to science communication carried out simultaneously across all European countries on the last Friday in the month of September. The aim is to encourage interaction and dialogue between researchers and the general public and demonstrate the value of research culture.

The event is organised with the contribution of the Cariplo Foundation and the Romeo and Enrica Invernizzi Foundation, in partnership with the Lombardy Region. The event’s Main Partner is Università Bocconi.
