Monica Ferro is the winner of the Italian Association of Chemistry for Engineering (AICING) Award 2018 for the best Doctoral Thesis. The thesis title is "Combined advanced structural tools for characterization of polysaccharidic polymers".

Monica obtained magna cum laude the PhD in Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering in 2018 at Politecnico di Milano.

The award ceremony for the PhD Prize will take place during the XI AicIng National Congress in Bologna, September 9-12, 2018, with Monica as invited speaker.

AicIng is the Italian Association of Chemistry for Engineering. AicIng gathers the community of researchers with common interests in the chemical foundations of technology, active in the Italian faculties of engineering of Universities and Technical Universities. AicIng organizes a national symposium, an important occasion to discuss research and teaching of chemistry for engineering, and many workshops on specific topics. AicIng highlights the research of the younger members by the Award for the Best PhD Thesis.
