A study by a group of researchers of Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering “Giulio Natta” in collaboration with STMicroelectronics, has been published on the Journal «ACS Omega».

In this study, the researchers proved the feasibility of using inkjet printing technology with a low-k polymer adhesive material to print complex patterns that can be used for applications in electronics, e.g., wafer bonding, 3D integration, and packaging. We showed the feasibility of fabricating patterns with relatively large dimensions and small features, down to 130 μm.

The illustration shows a patchwork of microscopic images of the whole printed pattern and two details of the pattern, i.e., the top left and the central region, for which it is possible to observe the presence of complex features.
